Tsarnaev Boston Bomber Decision

The long awaited verdict of the Boston Bombing came out. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is found unanimously guilty on multiple counts and will be sentenced to death. Tsarnaev was convicted of 30 charges of various counts including Use of a Weapon of Mass Destruction and Malicious Destruction of Property Resulting in Death with 17 carrying the potential of the death penalty as a result of the trial in April, 2015. The jurors in the trial only needed to decide that one of these accounts was deserving of the death penalty. The testimony phase lasted 14 days with 14 witnesses being called by the prosecution(asking for the death penalty), and 44 witnesses called by the defense(asking for life in prison without parole).

April 15, 2013 was a heart breaking day. Two bombs went off at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Three people were killed and over 250 were injured as a result. The people responsible included 26 year old Tamerian Tsarnaev, and his brother, 19(now 21) year old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The older brother died in a chase with the police, while the younger was found unanimously guilty on multiple counts and will be sentenced to death.

Either way, justice has been served. However, nothing will ever curb the heart ache of the friends and family that were injured or suffered a loss due to this tragic incident. A proud moment was when Boston bounded together as, "Boston Strong" and an organization was created for charitable fundraising to support disaster relief.

Comments from Allen:

Everyone expected the jury to sentence Dzhokhar to death, including myself.  I am sure many observers were outraged and offended that the defense brought in teachers and family members to testify as to what a sweet young boy this terrorist-mass murderer used to be.  Frankly, the defense team had only three things to use in this case: Dhokhar used to be a nice kid; his sweet disposition was overcome by his terrorist mastermind big brother, and some jurors just can't stomach imposing the death penalty.

Putting these witnesses on the stand concerning the defendant's childhood was all this defense team could do.  That said, I expected a death sentence for this fellow.
