Man Charged For Getting on Stage at Taylor Swift Concert
Security at a stadium Taylor Swift was performing at had to get a hold of a man who was charging the stage. The man is Christian Ewing who is 26 years old. Ewing was charged with entering without a ticket, and a felony and a misdemeanor battery, and obstruction. One source said that a security guard had his rib broken during the incident. Ewing's bail is set at $35,000.
Comments from Allen:
The crush on Taylor Swift earned Mr. Ewing a misdemeanor battery. The crush on the security guard, resulting in a broken rib, earned Mr. Ewing a felony.
With all the security at a concert like this, how did he even get in without a ticket?
My guess on the obstruction charge is that Mr. Ewing gave a fake name when arrested; that will earn anyone a charge of resisting or obstructing an officer.
When you are arrested, you don't have to confess to a crime, but you do have to give your real name. Additionally, any information you volunteer to the police must be true. If you give any false information to a police officer in the course of his evaluation of a crime, you will be charged with resisting or obstructing an officer.
I would expect the defendant in this case to get some local jail time, a mental evaluation, a fine and misdemeanor probation. I would be surprised if he gets convicted of a felony in a final plea agreement.
